OCC’s Dual Band Cellular Distribution System:

Better Indoor Cellular Reception with No Monthly Fees

Optical Cable Corporation has a solution to the dropped calls and zero bars that occur in many buildings.  Its new patent pending Cellular Distribution System (CDS) is a cost effective, turn-key solution for companies with poor indoor cell reception.  The CDS system was initially developed in response to the need for improved localized cellular coverage in buildings that experience poor provider service.  OCC is pleased to now introduce the Dual Band CDS system that covers multiple cellular bands and improves cell service for multiple carriers. 

The Dual Band CDS system utilizes newly installed low-loss coaxial cable to effectively distribute cellular provider signals throughout a building using a unique, patent pending “distributed antenna” technology.  This technology essentially creates communication pathways around building materials that can seriously inhibit cellular propagation including metal siding, concrete, and rebar.  The Dual Band CDS is easily installed, involves low initial investment and no monthly fees.  It supports all North American provider services and is compatible for high speed data and 3G internet services.

OCC’s CDS system is ideal for building applications where cellular service is readily available at an external location yet coverage is poor when the mobile user enters the facility.  Typical structures that benefit from the CDS system include manufacturing facilities with metal walls or heavy rebar reinforcements, office buildings, underground and basement locations.  This technology also shows great promise in large residential buildings, such as dormitories, which is especially important for colleges and universities trying to enhance security for their students.
