OCC has created another modular enclosure to simplify connectivity and transmission in the fast-paced broadcast industry. Where repeatable performance is critical, our enclosures ensure that your broadcast production runs seamlessly. The Compact Broadcast Service Panel (CBSP) by OCC is ideal for applications that do not require a full-size weatherproof broadcast service panel.

Applications

The CBSP is ideal for applications that do not require a full-size weatherproof broadcast service panel. Typical uses include controlled environment broadcast locations, such as studios, sports locker rooms, corporate facilities, stadium broadcast booths, or houses of worship.

Features

Features:

  • Highly flexible configurations to meet exact connectivity needs throughout the installation.
    • 4 bottom ports are customer-configurable to a mixture of SMPTE, Triax, and OpticalCON connectors.
    • 4 oversized adapter plates which are customer-configurable to a mixture of ST, BNC, and D-Series (XLR footprint) connectors.
    • Additionally, an adapter plate is available to enable any OCC 600-series adapter plates to be installed, including LC, SC, or RJ45 connectivity.
  • The design is resistant to accidental liquid spills.  This is often referred to as being “beer-proof”.
  • 16-gauge steel enclosure with black powder coat finish for durability over many years of service as your broadcast service panel.
  • 3-piece design for ease of installation:
    • The back panel is mounted on or in the wall, and features 1.5” and 2.0” conduit openings on both the top and bottom.
    • The front panel houses all connectivity that is brought in through the back panel.  The front panel is hinged and removable through 1 retention screw and 2 slide pin hinges, which can only be accessed when the front door is open.
    • The front door covers all connections, and has a locking latch to secure access to front panel ports.  When the front door is locked, the front panel and back panel are inaccessible – 1 lock secures the entire cabinet!
  • Cable exit ports are provided on the sides and bottom of the front panel.  The front door can be closed and locked over connected cables.  This provides resistance to tampering both before and after connections are made.
  • 4 bottom ports are electrically isolated for camera connectivity where isolated ground is required.
  • Discrete connectivity available in BNC, RJ45, SC, ST, LC, and FC.
  • Other common connectivity includes Lemo, Canare, Neutrik, ADC, and Kings.
  • SMPTE power connections available with Amp/Tyco Plug and receptacles, or blunt wires for other termination methods.
  • Dimensions:  9.5” deep x 11.1” wide x 13.5” tall
  • When the back panel is mounted in a wall, the front panel and front door of the closed wall box protrude 6.2 inches out from the wall surface.

Benefits:

  • As with all OCC Enclosures, all connectivity and adapter plates in the Compact Broadcast Service Panel are fully modular.
  • The Compact Broadcast Service Panel is a lower cost option compared to industry standard enclosures populated with a variety of separate front panels to meet connectivity needs.
  • Internal optical connections are available either for fusion splicing or discrete terminations.  This gives installers flexibility in how they would prefer to make fiber optic connections.
  • When the SMPTE fiber connections are specified to be terminated into discrete connectors, the required adapter plate is supplied with the wall box to simplify purchasing and installation of fiber terminations.
  • When the SMPTE fiber connections are specified to be terminated via fusion splicing, the required splice trays are supplied with the wall box to simplify purchasing and installation of fiber terminations.
  • SMPTE panel connectors are pre-terminated to rectangular power connectors.  The mating power connector is supplied with the wall box to simplify purchasing and installation of copper terminations.
  • Designed for quick and easy connections; both when installing the enclosure into the facility and when connecting equipment to the enclosure.
