Cabler/Strander Operator – WEEKEND
Schedule: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 am – 6:00 pm
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Cabler/Strander Operator to set up, run, and monitor Cabler/Strander/Rework Line equipment. This role supports the production of high-quality fiber optic cable. You will follow set-up sheets, adjust machines, and track production to meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Run and Monitor Equipment
-
Read set-up sheets and product codes to determine materials, adjustments, and production steps.

Set up, run, and monitor the Planetary Strander for all standard and nonstandard products.

Operate the respooling machine to handle sub cables, fillers, and wire.

Observe, measure, and inspect products at different production stages to ensure specifications are met.
Maintain Quality and Safety

Complete all required documentation accurately.

Clean equipment to prevent contamination.

Identify defects and problems during production. Assist in solving issues or notify the supervisor when needed.

Operate the rework line when workload allows, including washing, printing, stripping, and respooling cables.

Required Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
High school diploma or GED.
-
Six months of related experience or training preferred.
Skills & Abilities
-
Strong mechanical aptitude and experience operating production machines.

Ability to use tools and measuring devices accurately.

Proficient in reading instructions and following quality procedures.

Strong math and handwriting skills for completing documentation.

Team player who works well with minimal supervision.

Attention to detail and ability to identify and solve problems.

Ability to operate a forklift and hoist.
Working Conditions
-
Regularly stand, walk, and climb stairs.
-
Use hands for manual tasks and inspection activities.
-
Lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.

Vision required for reading, computer work, and color detection.

Hearing required to detect alarms and communicate with coworkers.

Work environment includes moderate noise, moving mechanical parts, and airborne particles.
