Quality Inspector – Final (Days)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Role Overview
As a Quality Inspector – Final, you will perform the final inspection of finished fiber optic products. You will ensure every product meets company policies, procedures, customer requirements, and industry standards.
Your attention to detail and commitment to accuracy help us maintain OCC’s reputation for exceptional quality and reliability.
What You’ll Do
Inspect and Verify Quality
You will inspect products for length, breaks, and attenuation using OTDR equipment, prioritizing work as needed. You will verify that all items meet specifications and identify any defects or production issues.
Throughout the process, you will review and evaluate data to confirm compliance or identify deviations from established standards. You will also ensure all inspection records and paperwork are complete and accurate.
Document and Report Findings
You will document all inspection activities and results according to OCC and customer requirements. When defects are found, you will complete nonconformance reports, coordinate material disposition, and support corrective actions.
Additionally, you will help implement data collection projects through OCC’s online Syspro system.

About You
Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED required.

Three or more years of experience in quality assurance or inspection preferred.
Skills and Knowledge

Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and MIL-STD requirements.

Hands-on experience with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and optical test equipment.

Ability to read and follow technical instructions accurately.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

Professional attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
Work Environment
You will work in a manufacturing area and may regularly lift or move cable reels weighing up to 50 lbs. The role requires strong vision for detailed inspections and computer use, as well as hearing sufficient for clear communication.
This position involves frequent data entry and handling small fiber optic components, requiring good manual dexterity. Reasonable accommodations are available for individuals with disabilities.
