Maintenance Technician – Weekends

Schedule: Friday – Sunday, 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM


Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician helps keep our equipment running safely and efficiently. You will set up, maintain, and repair machines that support daily production. This role is key to keeping our weekend operations on track.


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up or assemble new machines following written instructions.

  • Watch and listen for signs of trouble with equipment and fix problems quickly.

  • Use blueprints, sketches, or part drawings to plan repairs.

  • Take machines apart and replace broken parts when needed.

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and record all repairs and parts used.

  • Lubricate and care for machines and tools.

  • Always follow safety and quality procedures.

  • Work well with others and focus on teamwork and communication.

  • Support OCC’s mission, vision, and values.


Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience

  • One to three years of maintenance experience preferred.

  • MT1 or Industrial Maintenance Certification is a plus.

  • Military or technical training may count in place of experience.


Skills and Abilities

  • Good mechanical skills and problem-solving ability.

  • Can operate and repair different types of machine tools.

  • Reads and follows complex instructions or blueprints.

  • Basic electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic knowledge used daily.

  • Able to drive a forklift and use an aerial work platform.

  • Machining and fabrication experience are helpful.

  • Good math and recordkeeping skills.

  • Pays close attention to detail and works well with little supervision.


Working Conditions

This job requires standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs. You may hear moderate noise and be near moving parts or airborne particles. You need clear vision and hearing for safety and communication. Reasonable accommodations are available for qualified individuals.

Safety is our top priority. All technicians must follow company safety rules and use proper protective gear. OCC provides training for machine diagnostics, electrical safety, and hot work. Before starting any unusual task, a short safety review will be done.
