Maintenance Technician – NIGHTS
Schedule: Monday – Thursday | 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM
Training: Will train on day shift


Job Overview

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to support our production team by setting up, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery. This hands-on position is essential to keeping our equipment running safely and efficiently. You will play a key role in ensuring minimal downtime and consistent product quality.


Key Responsibilities

Maintain and Repair Equipment

  • Set up and assemble new machinery according to specifications.

  • Observe machines for visual or audio signs of malfunction and diagnose problems quickly.

  • Study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine the best repair approach.

  • Dismantle and reassemble machines to replace or repair defective parts.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and document all work completed.

  • Lubricate and maintain machine tools and equipment regularly.

  • Test machines after repair to confirm proper operation.

Ensure Quality and Safety

  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.

  • Maintain compliance with OCC’s quality standards and operational procedures.

  • Keep accurate records of parts used, repairs made, and preventive maintenance completed.

  • Conduct all activities safely and efficiently to prevent downtime or equipment damage.

Promote Teamwork and Excellence

  • Communicate respectfully and collaborate with coworkers to resolve maintenance issues.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and understanding when assisting others.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • One to three years of related experience preferred.

  • MT1 or industrial maintenance certification is desirable.

  • Military or technical training may substitute for field experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate, repair, and maintain machinery.

  • Skilled in reading and following detailed instructions, blueprints, and drawings.

  • Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

  • Machining, fabrication, and drafting experience preferred.

  • Accurate math and handwriting skills for completing documentation.

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving ability.

  • Capable of operating a forklift and aerial work platform.

  • Works well independently and as part of a team.


Working Conditions

  • Regularly stand and move throughout the work area.

  • Lift or move up to 50 lbs frequently.

  • Vision required for reading, computer work, and color recognition.

  • Hearing required for communication and alarm awareness.

  • Work environment includes moderate noise, moving parts, and occasional fumes or airborne particles.

  • Safety gear provided for all applicable tasks.

Safety Commitment

Safety is our top priority. You will follow all company protocols for safe work practices, including machine-specific diagnostics and lockout/tagout procedures. Training will be provided for electrical work, hot work, and other specialized tasks. Proper PPE will be issued and must be worn at all times. Pre-job safety meetings are required whenever work extends beyond normal routines.
