Assembler I – EC
Basic Function: Responsible for assembling production parts according to work instructions using hand tools that are manual, electrical, and pneumatic and operating the bagger machine. Follow standard work procedures and practice safe work habits to ensure a quality product is produced.
Significant Responsibilities:
Performs specific job responsibilities:
- Operate all functions of the bagger machine. Change bags and ribbons and make and conduct the print set-up functions using computer.
- Assemble small parts, sub-assemblies, and kits according to work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Assemble patch panels, jacks, fiber boxes and cabinets according to work instructions, pick lists, and assembly drawings.
- Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies on assemblies.
- Read routers and transfer information to P.C.
- Bag first piece and present to quality for verification.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: Ability to use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, nut driver, and pneumatic rivet gun. Ability to read and comprehend written work instructions, pick lists, and assembly drawings. Good communication skills, both written and oral. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and assist in resolving problems. Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word required.
Working Conditions: While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee must regularly lift up to 20lbs. The employee must have full range of motion ability, including stretching, bending, and stooping. This job requires sight sufficient for significant reading. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. This work also requires an individual with hearing sufficient for communication with co-workers and alarm awareness. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles.
