Business Development Specialist – DATA CENTERS

Basic Function: Serves as a technical specialist for all cable and connectivity products related to a target market. Drives increased sales by proactively supporting the efforts to customers in these markets.

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs specific job responsibilities:

    • Serves as a market specialist by understanding OCC products, target markets, competitor products and customer base, market standards, product trends and developments.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with influencers in the market including:  engineers, contractors, installers, integrators, distributors and others that will result in the selection of OCC products by a customer and/or end user.
    • Drives sales proactively as a specialist for the assigned market segment; supports and engages other members of the sales team:
      1. Provide market access to the sales team and analyze best methods to execute sales plans for the markets,
      2. Conduct both individual and join sales calls, deliver presentations and participate in trade shows,
    • Provides training on products and markets to the rest of the sales team, to MDIS participants, to other OCC partners, and to end-users and customers, as appropriate.
    • Collaborates with engineering teams, and coordinates and acts as liaison for sales team with engineering teams, as appropriate.

Job Scope: 

  • Managerial: Coordinates sales efforts in designated market segments and provides support to the sales team
  • Communication: Regularly communicates with other members of the sales team (outside sales, inside sales), engineers and customers.
  • Confidentiality: Must maintain confidentiality with respect to corporate goals and objectives, product information and customer/sales activity
  • Financial: Responsibility for operating within the constraints of the Auto and Expense Policy especially by maintaining reasonable expenses.
  • Judgment: May make independent decisions concerning specific customer demands with consultation from appropriate leaders.
  • Compliance: Responsible for SOX compliance as it pertains to team processes
  • Travel: Travel is at least 50% of working time

Minimum Qualifications Required: 

Education: Bachelor degree, preferably in a technically related field

Experience:  3—5 years (applies fundamental concepts and practices)

Licensure, Certification and/or Registration: RCDD desired

Summary: Sets up, runs, and monitors 1 ¼” extrusion equipment used for the manufacture of fiber optic cable by performing the following job responsibilities.

    • Reads the set-up sheet and utilizes the file name to determine the product to be manufactured, machine adjustments, and material requirements.
    • Sets up, runs, and continuously monitors the 1 ¼” extrusion line for all products.
    • Observes, measures, and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure the product is being produced per proper set-up sheet specifications.
    • Accurately completes all documentation specific to this job function.
    • Cleans equipment to prevent contamination as required.
    • Recognizes various defects and problems that arise during production. Assists in solving problems or notifies supervisor if required. Completes non-conformity paperwork for all defects and problems in products.
    • Conducts all activities in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines.

Lead Operator NIGHTS #2022

Lead Operator – NIGHTS

 

Basic Function:  A working lead that provides daily operational and technical support to manufacturing floor employees.  Monitoring, auditing, troubleshooting, problem solving, correcting deviations, assisting the Process Control Engineering team in all aspects of manufacturing processes technical control.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

Ensures Daily Operational and Process Controls are maintained (15% of workload):

  • Equipment setups are verified with operators for accuracy.
  • Verification that the processes are running within specified tolerances.
  • Proactive detection and adjustments to quality issues
  • Process deviations are corrected or adjusted for and root cause analysis is performed using standardized methods with results presented to the BUL and appropriate Pillars and parties.
  • Process audits are conducted routinely with actions performed on deviations.

Quality Non-Conformance (QN) Triage (25% of workload):

  • Assist BUL, technicians, and operators with identification, root cause, and corrective action for QNs found in the process areas.
  • Leads and/or participates in focused improvement teams to attack losses associated with the most problematic QNs as prescribed by the area loss intelligence data.
  • Under the leadership of the Process Control Technician, aids in identifying trends, problem areas, and procedures contributing to non-conformances.

Shop Floor Operational and Technical Support (25% of workload):

  • Serves as the first responder to process, equipment, setup, materials, and material movement issues the operators need assistance or guidance with.
  • Manufacturing audits using standardized tools in the areas of production, tooling condition and setup, operator logs, 5S, Scoreboards, and safety. Results are presented to the BUL and technicians.
  • Assist technician in training activities

Equipment Operations (35% of workload):

  • Operates equipment and executes manufacturing processes as required

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education and Experience:  High school diploma. Three years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:  MT1 Certification is desirable

Basic Function: Set up and maintain industrial machinery.

 Significant Responsibilities:

  • Setting-up and/or assembling new machinery per specifications.

Basic Electrical, hydraulic, and Pneumatic skills will be used daily. Machining and fabrication skills are a plus. The ability to create Electrical and Mechanical drawings are also essential skills.

Basic Function:  This position serves as the highest level team member for reviewing, strategically responding to and designating necessary work groups to manage and execute contract administration for maximum sales.  This includes ensuring the successful delivery of technical performance, adherence to schedule and budgetary constraints, and strict compliance with all applicable internal policies and external regulatory requirements and directives.

                Contracts Administration:

  • Manages the analysis, review, and oversight of government and private contracts; collaborates with and provides guidance to the sales team responsible for this business; ensures leading edge and up to date knowledge of the government contracting climate;
  • Uses FARS and DFARS knowledge to serve as the primary lead ensuring contract requirements are understood and met by the team involved in managing customer relationships; directs others in their work related to the contract and/or corporate program.
  • Works with sales, engineering, operations, HR, IT, and other departments to understand internal processes and policies related to compliance requirements, holds self-responsible for maintaining up-to-date information from these groups.
  • Manages OCC’s formal responses to contractual issues and customer inquiries – either working directly with the customer or involving/advising the lead salesperson as appropriate.
  • Manages OCC’s customer portal access: maintains access, grants access to others as appropriate
  • Uses general business experience to review contracts for private customers.

                Compliance

  • Maintains a constant pulse on OCC compliance practices and processes against the ever-changing contract requirements, especially in federal and defense contracting to avoid or predict non-compliance issues with advance notice.
  • Regularly communicates compliance changes to the leadership and sales team for them to make adjustments.
  • Effectively and efficiently manages the “process” of contract administration.
  • Understand the commonalities amongst contracts and supplier certifications to collect and manage an internal informational “catalog” for OCC
  • Maintains calendars to ensure renewal certifications are proactively completed
  • Regular communication with sales to ensure compliance is managed alongside their goal of growing sales.

Job Scope:

  • Organizational Responsibility: This position is responsible for coordinating and providing direction and feedback to senior staff and functional managers across all facilities concerning technical programs, projects and compliance programs as well as developing or interpreting contractual agreements.  The position requires extensive knowledge across a wide spectrum of corporate functions and activities as well as broad knowledge of specialized external requirements.

  • Compliance: The role has significant bearing for corporate compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FARs and DFAR’s) as well as other areas including Qualified Products List (QPL) for military products, and ISO-9001 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements.
  • Travel: The role requires some travel to other OCC facilities, suppliers / test facilities and customer facilities.  Travel times can range from overnight to several weeks duration.

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:  Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Contracts Management, Supply Chain or related fields. Master Degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred. 

Experience:  This role requires a minimum of 4-6 years of experience on the following subject matters:

  • FARS and DFARS
  • CMMC and NIST-800 (in order to provide support to the IT team member managing CMMC compliance)
  • Contracts review, analysis and oversight (government and private)
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements

 

Licensure, Certification and/or Registration:  Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Federal Contracts Manager (CFCM) or other applicable certification preferred                            

Other Minimum Qualifications:  This role requires a high level of proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) as well as expert level proficiency with MS Project.

Summary: Sets up, runs, and monitors 1 ¼” extrusion equipment used for the manufacture of fiber optic cable by performing the following job responsibilities.

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs specific job responsibilities:

    • Reads the set-up sheet and utilizes the file name to determine the product to be manufactured, machine adjustments, and material requirements.
    • Sets up, runs, and continuously monitors the 1 ¼” extrusion line for all products.
    • Observes, measures, and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure the product is being produced per proper set-up sheet specifications.
    • Accurately completes all documentation specific to this job function.
    • Cleans equipment to prevent contamination as required.
    • Recognizes various defects and problems that arise during production. Assists in solving problems or notifies supervisor if required. Completes non-conformity paperwork for all defects and problems in products.
    • Conducts all activities in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines.

Configuration Control Specialist #2048

Configuration Control Specialist

Basic Function:  Provides key functional support and task responsibility reporting to the Configuration Manager in an active and robust Configuration Management environment.  This includes, but is not limited to, following written procedures and recognized Configuration Management principles in ERP system input of part numbers and related Bills of Material, document control practices, release management, and change control management.  Additionally supports the Order Fulfillment as required in the sales order processing function.

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Support the activities of the Change Review Board (CRB) by preparing review packages, keeping meeting notes, logging activity, following-up on issues, reporting status and other tasks as required and assigned.
  • In response to approved Engineering Change Orders and other inputs, perform accurate and timely data entry and maintenance of Configuration Management related ERP system data such as Bills of Material, Parts Master files including descriptions and relevant Parts Master coding, part/document revision status, and linking to controlled documents.
  • Maintain controlled documents in strict compliance with Corporate policies, regulations, and standards ensuring that up-to-date versions of relevant documents are available for use, that documents are legible and readily identifiable, and that obsolete documents are prevented from unintended use.
  • Support audits (internal, external, 3rd party) in order to verify that regulatory and quality requirements are being met.
  • Provide superior customer service and communication to all customers, both internal and external.
  • Monitor requests for service from internal customers and prioritize to ensure that requests are completed in a timely manner.
  • Recognize opportunities for documentation and configuration process improvements and participate in the development and implementation of improvement solutions.
  • Assist Configuration Manager and Order Fulfillment personnel as required to provide backup support and to meet peak workload requirements.

Job Scope:

Working Conditions:  This is a partially sedentary job which requires sight sufficient for computer use and hearing sufficient for extensive, direct and/or telephone contact with customers, management and employees.  Responsibilities require an individual to be physically mobile to move around the facility.  The nature of this position and the personal interactions involved require that an individual possess significant and persuasive interactive communications skills.  40+ hour on-site work week with on-call availability required. Product Engineer #2052

Product Engineer

Basic Function:  This engineering position is versatile and will be working in both the product and manufacturing development aspects of a fiber optical cable plant.  This individual will define product requirements, define equipment requirements and ensure the right equipment, processes and techniques are used to produce good quality products.  An engineer in this position will perform tasks and conduct analysis on complex problems that require communication within the organization and with outside resources such as test labs and material suppliers.  All levels of engineering work from research and development to industrialization of the product in the plant are expected.  Mechanical engineering skills, plastic process equipment understanding and plastics processing knowledge will be necessary.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs specific job responsibilities:

  • Manages significant product development projects to meet product performance requirements to the defined timeline.
  • Plans, executes and reports product testing through internal or external test facilities
  • Ensures the appropriate equipment is used to produce the designated products.
  • Coordinates the validation of new product designs during the production of the first article and updates the designs as needed.
  • Assures product and process quality by defining equipment process capabilities, establishing process standards and coordinates the analysis of product non-conformances.
  • Develops and maintains engineering documentation and systems to ensure standard product configurations are complete, accurate and up to date and include materials, construction and regulatory requirements.
  • Manages the custom product design review, approval and change process including customer approval of designs.
  • Manages the regulatory agency design requirements such as UL, ABS and MSHA
  • Enters data into the ERP system related to Finished Goods part numbers including the proper approval status and availability of the products
  • Supports the cost calculation process and integrates information to support ERP systems.

Experience:  3+ years experience preferred in a manufacturing environment

Licensure, Certification and/or Registration:                                   

Other Minimum Qualifications:  A strong technical ability to understand and implement engineering concepts and to perform independently

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: 

  • Technical skills are required in order to understand and manage complex product design and material performance concepts to act independently on projects assigned.
  • The position will require an individual with good problem solving skills, communication skills and the ability to deal with people in an effective and professional manner. Will handle regular communications with all levels of sales, production and engineering staff.
  • Excellent computer skills – 50% of the work will be on a computer with a variety of software – Word, Excel, Access and Syspro ERP
  • The individual will need to be able to manage multiple tasks on a tight schedule. Much of the work will be time critical to support both order entry and order release.
  • Strong team player willing to share knowledge and eager to learn new skills as needed

Working Conditions:  Job duties requires engineering work, overnight travel and ambulation in office, testing laboratory, manufacturing plant, customer facility, and on-site installation working environments.
