Significant Responsibilities:

 Performs specific job responsibilities: 

  • Assemble mechanical and electronic parts according to work instructions and assembly drawings.
  • Recognize cosmetic and functional discrepancies in parts and assemblies.
  • Operate solder pot according to work instructions.
  • Read Bills of Materials and Shop Packs to include the router and pick list.
  • Clean the solder pot according to safety and operating procedures.
  • Perform final assembly and tests on cables.
  • Conduct rowing inspection of work in process.
  • Inspect assemblies for conformance to standards.
  • Operate Signature PCB test equipment.
  • Ensure each product passes testing requirements to standards.
  • Load and operate the IDC Insertion Machine.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience:  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.  Must have 12 months of experience in assembly.  Must be able to pass Solder Pot Certification.

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:  Ability to use small hand tools such as screwdrivers, nut drivers, Allen/Star/Crescent wrenches, microscope, hand crimpers, and height gauge.  Ability to use soldering iron and de-soldering tools.  Ability to read and follow basic instructions.  Good communication skills, both written and oral.  Ability to read and understand assembly drawings and work instructions.  Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.  Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and assist in resolving problems.  Computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is preferred.

Maintenance Technician

Basic Function: Set up and maintain industrial machinery.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Setting-up and/or assembling new machinery per specifications.
  • Observing machines or equipment (for visual and audio signs) to diagnose malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments and/or repairs. Studying blueprints, sketches, machine parts, or specifications to determine appropriate repairs.  Assembling and testing operating machines to verify the correction of malfunctions.

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:   Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate a variety of machine tools, assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools, and proper maintenance of machinery.  Ability to read and follow complex instructions, ability to understand and implement quality procedures.  Math and handwriting skills and the ability to complete correctly all documentation.  Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.   Attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and help resolve problems. Ability to operate a forklift and aerial Work platform. Basic Electrical, hydraulic, and Pneumatic skills will be used daily. Machining and fabrication skills are a plus. The ability to create Electrical and Mechanical drawings are also essential skills.

Basic Function:  The Outside Sales Representative performs proactive sales activities for all OCC products and drives increased sales within the designated geographical territory.

Basic Function:   Serves as a technical specialist for all cable and connectivity products related to a target market.  Drives increased sales by proactively supporting the efforts of customers in these target markets.

  • Serves as a market specialist by understanding OCC products, target markets, competitor products and customer base, market standards, product trends, and developments.

Fiber & Materials Technician – DAYS #1996

ERP, Material Mover & Fiber Specialist – DAYS

 

Basic Function:  Enters and processes work orders into the ERP system.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs specific job responsibilities:

  • Accurately and timely entering and processing of work orders into the ERP system. Examples of work orders include, but are not limited to the following:

Manufactured Work Orders

Stock Work Orders

Remake Work Orders

Engineering Work Orders

  • Coordinate all areas of the company as to job status and work order distribution; ensure the accurate and timely distribution of work orders to the appropriate facility location.
  • Accurately and timely distribute work orders to the appropriate location within the facility.
  • Monitor non-conformance areas for un-remitted remakes, and ensure compliance with the Remake Work Order Process.
  • Coordinates with Senior Planner to ensure all dried materials needed for the manufacturing team are met. Dries materials and moves to extruder lines as needed to ensure all production needs are fulfilled.
  • Assembles completed jobs from our OTDR 1 & 2 in process testing stations, verifies all paperwork, and promptly delivers to the next operation.
  • Accurately and timely perform cycle counts of inventory to ensure the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
  • Utilizes and follows quality policy and operating procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of the job being performed.
  • Intra-Departmental cross-training as required

 

Performs specific Fiber Inventory responsibilities:

  • Receives fiber inventory from vendors, scans and applies internal ID numbers onto appropriate identification cards. Unpack fibers and prepare them for entry into the fiber storage area.
  • Stores, consolidates, pulls fibers for allocation to purchase orders and stock orders, and delivers fiber to the associated buffer line for buffer manufacturing.
  • Conducts all documentation as it relates to removing and adding fiber inventory, linking fibers to ERP jobs, fiber inventory accuracy, and all documentation required for the job function.

Basic Function:  This position will serve two critical functions:  provide paralegal support to the CEO and oversee contract administration and compliance requirements for our federal government and commercial business.

  • Manages OCC’s formal responses to contractual issues and customer inquiries – either working directly with the customer or involving/advising the lead salesperson as appropriate.
  • Manages OCC’s customer portal access: maintains access, grants access to others as appropriate
  • Uses general business and paralegal experience to review contracts for private customers.

                Compliance

  • Maintains a constant pulse on OCC compliance practices and processes against the ever-changing contract requirements, especially in federal and defense contracting to avoid or predict non-compliance issues with advance notice.
  • Regularly communicates compliance changes to the leadership and sales team for them to make adjustments.
  • Effectively and efficiently manages the “process” of contract administration:
  • Understand the commonalities amongst contracts and supplier certifications to collect and manage an internal informational “catalog” for OCC
  • Maintains calendars to ensure renewal certifications are proactively completed
  • Regular communication with sales to ensure compliance is managed alongside their goal of growing sales.

                Corporate Paralegal

  • Supports the CEO in drafting and finalizing legal documentation. Researches and provides input in the development of such documents.
  • Interfaces with counsel on behalf of the CEO
  • Ensures quick turnaround on finalizing, approving, and executing contracts.

Job Scope:  

The Corporate Paralegal will report to and provide support to the CEO in researching corporate and organizational matters and drafting/managing related documents.  In addition, supports and contributes to growing government sales as the lead personnel for contracts administration, this person will manage all aspects of contractual requirements (using knowledge of FARS, DFARS, and DoD to ensure compliance) to help ensure OCC’s success in capturing business.

A successful candidate will have an understanding of federal contracting compliance matters (specifically, FARS and DFARS) to ensure the appropriate reviews and processes are in place to manage contracts.  Additionally, project management and organization skills are necessary to effectively manage processes and documentation.  This is a collaborative role, working with the corporate leadership team on legal matters and working with the sales and engineering teams on compliance matters.

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:  Associates Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.  Paralegal Certification required. 

Experience:  4-6 years experience on the following subject matters:

  • FARS and DFARS
  • CMMC and NIST-800 (in order to provide support to the IT team member managing CMMC compliance)
  • Contracts review, analysis and oversight (government and private)
  • Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • General business law

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:  Excellent oral communication with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly and to project a courteous and helpful attitude with callers and visitors.  Ability to read and follow basic instructions, including quality procedures.  Excellent computer skills with experience using software packages.  Math and handwriting skills required and the ability to correctly complete all documentation.  Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.  Close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and help resolve problems.  Able to work in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks.

    • Applies print to cables using jet printers and mechanical printers as required.
    • Correctly completes all paperwork specific to this job function.

    • Recognizes various defects and problems that arise during production. Assists in solving problems or notifies supervisor if required. Completes non-conformity paperwork for all defects and problems in products.

Basic Function:  Supports the production of fiber optic cable.

  • Selects cable to be respooled/striped/cut/printed based on priorities set by production.
  • Sets up and respools all of the standard cable products produced by this company.
  • Prints finished cables and washes off print as required.
  • Stripes in process sub-straights as required.
  • Strips jackets off defective cables, as required.
